About
Erick Lima
Built for Precision. Ready for fiction.
I specialize in 3D concept design for weapons, props, and tactical gear, ready to use in films, games, and cinematics.
I’m a U.S. Army veteran, and that experience shaped how I approach design. I’ve handled real gear, used real systems, and that hands-on knowledge brings a level of authenticity to my work. I’ve always been into hardware — the kind of stuff that locks, slides, and carries weight and I bring that same mindset into every asset I build.
Right now, I’m building a portfolio that blends cinematic presentation with real-world influence. Most of my work is hard surface, with a strong focus on believable form, texture, and silhouette.
What I bring
Concept Design Thinking
For me, concept design starts with fundamentals: understanding shape, proportion, function, and how those things serve the design. I focus on silhouette clarity, material contrast, and usability.
Hard Surface Modeling
I focus on building clean, functional models that hold up in both design and production. I work with a balance of form and logic—shaping assets that feel engineered while keeping geometry efficient. UVs are unwrapped manually to support clear texturing and streamlined workflows.
Texturing
Every material choice tells part of the story. I focus on wear, edgework, and surface breakup to make the object feel handled, used, or even overbuilt. My goal is to give each asset just enough grit to make it believable.
Rendering
I’m focused on presenting models in a way that supports the design with clean lighting, strong form reads, and materials that feel grounded. I’m still refining my approach, but each render is an opportunity to better communicate function, mood, and intent.
Let's Connect
